Midyear Thoughts

Oh July! It's so fast. Parang kailan lang naghahanap ako ng work at laging nasa bahay but now, what a blessing the He has given to me.

There are a lot of areas that I should pray and claim for this month:
1.) closer and intimate relationship with God (made my faith goals for this mid-year)
2.) quality time with the family and relatives
3.) quality time with #waybee
4.) bonding time with my friends and batchmates/colleagues
5.) work schedule (hopefully it'll be a constant one)
6.) improving and enhancing my skills in the field of Information Technology and in the field of Music
7.) learning more about the the act of worship (composing a song of Yours)
8.) praying that I'll be healthy and fit
9.) receive more blessings this month until the end of the year

Whatever plans You have for me, let Your will be done. :)

Time Limit

One night, I was inside the car taking my "power nap" and one random question just popped out in my mind and asked myself,

"What would you do if it is your last day on earth?"

There are lots and lots of things to do like spending the remaining time with the family, friends or your loved ones to show your deepest gratitude for having them in your life and to show your love to them or eating your favorite food (lutong pambahay perhaps or in Jollibee/McDonalds), watching your favorite shows in TV or having a movie date with someone (romantic setting kumbaga), playing your favorite game in a console or the computer (lalo na kapag patapos na yung game na nilalaro mo) or maybe at night walking around or do stargazing on your roof of your house. Maraming pwedeng gawin, hindi ba?

Most of the people will choose the first option because one of our priorities in life is family and we all know our first priority is God at yun din ang pinili ko, hindi halata na inuna ko siya on the paragraph above. But as we spend our time doing a lot of things, whether it will make us or them happy, do we think that's enough in living our lives to the fullest and that God will be happy too? Parang may kulang eh, diba

We might not know when will be our last day on earth. But as we stay longer in this temporary place, we must not forget the One who saved us and redeemed us from the effect of our sins and that's Jesus Christ.

So, how can we live our lives to the fullest?

Simple! Have TIME by knowing Him more, by reading and loving His word and applying it in your daily life (make it a habit),  by sharing it to your family, friends and loved ones and by praying always, it doesn't matter if your at home or at church or if it is a long or a short one, as long as it comes from your heart.

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity." - Colossians 4:5 (NIV)

As what I've said, we might not know when it will come. So we must start sharing His word and use our days wisely.

143rd Post - The Real World

Okay, let's talk about living a life in the real world.

When I was in college (4th year), thinking about that word made me feel.. *ugh*, I don't want to earn for a living or I don't want to go to that stage and leave my friends behind or pwede pahinga muna? and a lot more. But when I got my diploma, one question popped out in my mind..

WHAT'S NEXT?

Three months after, I began to know more about the Lord. I was so thankful for having Him in my life and He revealed to me that I must move forward with Him and prepare for the next chapter. Two or four months of job hunting is too long but the Lord continually gave me patience to surpass this part. I began facing challenges (some are unexpected) in between those months but because He told me before that I must prepare, I followed Him and I succeeded (thank You Lord!). I finally found a job that suits me and it's official; I'm now in the real world. Bring it on!

First day of work? Honestly? Ayun, pasaway, I was late and I didn't follow the proper work attire and I was thinking "baka masisante na ako kaagad" but thank God it didn't happen. From there they introduced to me my workplace and I said to myself, "uy Mac." LOL! (short for Macintosh) The following days, I started knowing the entire team and some inside the company  na kahit papa'no you need someone to talked to when you deal with stress. Had my first project on the second week and guess what? Developing a website using PHP (yun oh, I'm so excited and my hands are ready). At that time, I prayed that hopefully, I'll finish this project and will be a regular employee after six months.

From that point, I missed my social life hanging out with my family, friends in school, at church and even inside the subdivision and meeting almost everyday with #waybee. Sabi ko nga, welcome to the real world Kevs and you need to stay focused on what needs to be done every time; as what others say "every second/minute counts". In the bright side, I was so blessed that I've learned a lot of things in the real world like earning and budgeting (just like in the college days), using my breaks wisely (because they assigned me in a graveyard shift) and of course driving on my own.

HERE WE GO!

As the result of working hard, dumating na ang aking inaasam. Thank You Lord for the opportunity and for guiding me in the right path. I'm contented of what I have now and I won't waste it. Nga pala, regular na ako!

"Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you," - Hebrews 13:5

What I Love: Music and Choral Singing

MUSIC

In the past 4 years before I entered chorale singing, the word "MUSIC" is within me and it is where I express my deepest gratitude (to God primarily because of the talents He bestowed in me), my emotions whenever I'm getting tired of everything and after seconds/minutes, my tears will fall, so emotional,ey? and lastly happiness yung tipong pangkatuwaan lang, isang "request" ng song, tutugtugin mo na!

I was so blessed to have these talents bestowed in me.. Lord salamat po talaga!

CHORAL SINGING

I started to join the group/organization inside the university, my faculty where I finished my 4-year course, the UST One Voice Engineering Chorale.

At first, boses-bata talaga ako nun, although dati naman kumanta na ako sa church with my co-sacristans then as I entered the university and had my first general assembly in the faculty I saw them performing and there I gained my interest to join the org.

After months of training and commitment. I wrote a blog entitled "We Brought Home The Trophy!", that was my first taste of victory. Every year, we welcome the new batch and there I see positive changes in the group, parang ako dati, nung sumali ako. And lastly after the competition (we shouldn't forget this every time we are in on-stage), we never forget Him, our primary inspiration by singing a thanksgiving song that our conductor arranged.

Thank You Lord for having all of them in my entire college life, continue to bless each of them because Lord, we are an offering. :)
